First 3-6 Months (Apprentice Level)

Starting Pay: $15-20/hour

You'll learn the fundamentals of truck maintenance:

• Safety First: How to work safely with tools, equipment, and vehicles
• Preventive Maintenance (PMs): Oil changes, filter replacements, fluid checks, inspections
• Tires: Inspection, inflation, mounting, and basic tire repair
• Brakes: How brake systems work, basic brake inspection and service
• Documentation: How to complete paperwork and track your work

At this level, you'll work closely with experienced mechanics who will guide you every step of the way.

6-12 Months (Journeyman Level)

Pay: $20-25/hour

As you gain confidence, you'll expand your skills:

• Engine Basics: Spark plugs, belts, hoses, water pumps, radiators
• Electrical Systems: Battery service, basic wiring, lighting
• Diagnostics: Using scan tools to identify problems
• Welding (optional): Basic fabrication and repair welding
• Working Independently: Completing jobs on your own with support available

You'll start taking on more responsibility and may begin working independently on simpler jobs.

1-2 Years+ (Specialist & Beyond)

Pay: $25-35+/hour

As you master the fundamentals, we'll help you specialize in areas that interest you:

• Advanced Diagnostics: Complex electrical and computer systems
• Engine Internals: Head gaskets, valve jobs, major engine repairs
• Specialized Systems: Emissions, hydraulics, pneumatics, DEF systems
• Fabrication & Design: Building custom parts and solutions
• Management Skills: Teaching others, managing jobs, bringing in new business
• Master Your Craft: Become an expert in specific areas (transmissions, diesel engines, etc.)

• Previous mechanic experience (we'll teach you!)
• Certifications (nice to have, but not required)
• Your own tools (we provide everything)
• A college degree (we value skills and attitude over credentials)

Fleet Vehicles

Work on delivery trucks, box trucks, and commercial vehicles for established businesses in the Charlotte area.

• Ford, Chevy, and International trucks
• Diesel and gas engines
• Preventive maintenance and repairs

Mobile Service

Some work is at our shop in Stanley (NW Charlotte), but you'll also travel to customer locations in fully-equipped service trucks.

• All tools provided in service trucks
• Work across the Charlotte metro area
• Variety of locations and challenges

Diverse Projects

Beyond regular maintenance, you'll get to work on interesting projects and custom solutions.

• Fabrication and custom builds
• Problem-solving unique challenges
• Learning specialized skills

Morning

• Brief team meeting to plan the day
• Load the service truck with parts and tools
• Review the jobs scheduled for the day
• Learn what to expect and what you'll be practicing

During the Day

• Work alongside experienced mechanics
• Start with observation, then hands-on practice
• Ask questions and get real-time coaching
• Complete jobs while building your skills

End of Day

• Complete paperwork and document work
• Restock truck and organize tools
• Plan for tomorrow's jobs
• Debrief on what you learned

💵 Pay Structure

• Apprentice (0-6 months): $15-20/hour → $31,200-$41,600/year
• Journeyman (6-12 months): $20-25/hour → $41,600-$52,000/year
• Specialist (1-2 years): $25-30/hour → $52,000-$62,400/year
• Technician (2+ years): $30-35/hour → $62,400-$72,800/year
• Master (experienced): $35+/hour → $72,800+/year

Your pay increases as you develop skills and take on more responsibility. We also offer flat rate and contractor options for experienced techs.

Step 3: In-Person Meeting

If we're both interested, we'll schedule an in-person meeting to:

• Show you our shop and service trucks
• Meet the team you'd be working with
• Discuss a start date and schedule
• Answer any remaining questions
